Characters: Colonies are encrusting with short valleys separated by high sinuous collines which sometimes form monticules. Calices are 1.2-2.7 mm diameter. Septa are widely spaced, thin and solid with ornimented sides. Columellae are thin and solid.

Colour: Light to dark brown or brick red.

Similar Species: Closest to Pavona varians but valleys are shorter and corallites are larger with septo-costae more widely spaced.

Habitat: Mostly shallow non-reef habitats.

Abundance: Common.
